Molly Haas-Hooven

poetic attempts and other nonsense

I write plays about people you might hate and worlds you might fear.

Molly is a playwright, performer, and educator. She has written about snakes who wish to be women, oil in North Dakota, teenagers in 1933 Germany, and Marines returned from war. As a creative writing instructor, she taught children and teens from all over New York through the non-profit, Writopia Lab.  At Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital, she worked with patients and families, providing creative writing support at the bedside, hosting a live TV show on Kids Zone TV, and producing Surge: The Zone's Teen Art and Literary Magazine. As a visiting artist at Brandeis University, Molly mentors college students through the process of developing new plays. Molly is a New Georges Affiliated Artist.
